Very heavy tower makes room for luxury Manhattan residences
Reaching a height of 250 feet (76.4 m), the Era is certainly not among the tallest towers in Manhattan. However, it still stands out even in this skyscraper-filled corner of the world thanks to an eye-catching and heavy design that maximizes space for luxurious residences and amenities on upper levels.
The Era is designed by local company ODA, which has a lot of shape with these type of pixelated blocky buildings, and the residential skyscraper is located in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Its limestone facade is interrupted by large windows, and it measures 136,639 square feet (approximately 12,700 m²), most of which is taken up by residential space, although there is also retail space on the lower floors.
Cleverly breaking the mold of tradition, Era’s 20 Stories modernize the beloved pre-war construction so popular in its orbit, evolving the iconic materiality, style and prestige of the Upper West Side to the 21st century and beyond, âsaid Eran Chen, Founder Director of ODA.
âEra grows as she goes up; by nature this allows people to enjoy the upper floors where the unobstructed views are, larger common areas and an outdoor rooftop pool – something almost inconceivable in other Upper West Side buildings. “
The 20 floors of the building will accommodate 57 housing units. These will range from 1,252 square foot (approximately 116 m²) units to spacious 3,542 square foot (329 m²) residences, as well as two penthouse suites at the top of the building. Prices start at US $ 2.625 million for a two-bedroom house and can go as high as $ 13.5 million for a five-bedroom house. We don’t know how much a penthouse suite will cost you, but as the saying goes, if you have to ask, you won’t be able to afford it.
As you would expect for that kind of money, interiors will be sufficiently luxurious, with white oak flooring (and radiant underfloor heating), custom doors, marble counters, and custom Italian cabinetry, as well. only Bosch and Gaggenau devices. In addition to its rooftop swimming pool, amenities will include a gym, children’s playroom, lounge, music room, as well as a 24-hour concierge.
Work is currently well advanced in the era and is expected to be completed at the end of 2022. It is being developed by Adam America and Reuveni Real Estate.
