Ramona Singer wants to be a real estate agent, but she almost destroyed a ‘million dollar’ open house last season
Ramona singer of The real housewives of New York may think she is ready to sell luxury real estate, but Million Dollar Listing New York fans won’t soon forget how she nearly derailed Ryan Serhant’s open house last season.
The singer was invited to Serhant and Luis D. Ortiz’s open house and they feared her loud remarks would put buyers off. At one point, Serhant asked Ortiz to keep a close watch on Singer, as he feared her observations about what she would change about the property would hamper their sales efforts. Although she didn’t seem to do much damage, now she wants to be a broker. During the last episode of RHONY, she meets Michael Lorber of the Douglas Elliman brokerage for advice on how to become an agent. While Lorber seems happy to be in the reunion, he may have some concerns as well.
Why were Ryan Serhant and Luis D. Ortiz worried about Ramona Singer on “Million Dollar Listing New York”?
Serhant and Ortiz invited Singer to the open house because they wanted to include socialites who could hopefully tap into their vast list of networks. The singer’s reputation, however, preceded her and Serhant knew she could cause trouble. In fact, one of the first comments Serhant makes to Singer is, “Don’t cause trouble.”
But Singer is responsible for exploring the kitchen on her own, that’s when she decides to express her criticisms. “It looks a bit old and dated,” she observed. This is when Serhant suggests that Ortiz simply steers Singer away from other buyers and socialites. “Grandpa can’t handle Ramona,” said Ortiz, laughing in a confessional.

“Luis is coming right now,” Serhant shares in a confessional. “He’s keeping Ramona out of the way so not everyone can hear him complain. So she doesn’t influence what everyone thinks.
Ramona Singer from ‘RHONY’ wants to be the broker now (but is she ready?)
During the last episode of RHONY, The singer met Lorber, who starred in the first season of Million Dollar Listing New York. Lorber’s father is Howard Lorber’s executive chairman of real estate brokerage, Douglas Elliman, who is also often seen on the show.
The singer believes she is ready to get into real estate, adding that she is a real estate “natural”. But some of his remarks on business approaches seem to baffle Lorber. He reminds her that the vernacular has changed. For example, the terms “master bedroom” and “his and her bathrooms” are outdated. “You can’t say bachelor pad,” he said. “I don’t think you can say ‘a few steps from the park’.”

“Someone told me because of the invalids!” She exclaims. He looks a little stunned, trying to figure out how to tell her the term is offensive. But then she starts with “people with disabilities!” ”
“Um, if you’re in a wheelchair you’re not a short walk from the park,” Lorber told him gently.
If the singer gets her real estate license, she won’t be the first RHONY cast member who sells luxury real estate. Kelly Bensimon, who just appeared on Million Dollar Listing New York sells luxury properties and made $ 50 million in real estate sales in 2021 alone.
