John Legend and Chrissy Teigen buy new mansion in Beverly Hills
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen clinched their last trophy in Beverly Hills. The powerful couple just paid $ 17.5 million for a newly built, state-of-the-art mansion in secluded Benedict Canyon.
The huge deal comes as the musician and model accept backup offers on their former home in 90210, an 8,500 square foot estate they listed for $ 23.95 million in August.
This one is even bigger at 10,700 square feet. Sprawling over a hillside lot, the box-shaped mansion was custom built this year and offers stunning views of the city below.
A massive 6,600-square-foot playground approaches the sleek white exterior, and inside, the open-plan spaces feature 24-foot ceilings, white oak floors, and expansive glass walls. The living room, dining room, and double island kitchen all open to the outdoors, where a 100ft saltwater pool borders the property.
Elsewhere, seven bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, an office with walnut shelves, a 300-bottle wine cellar and an LED cinema room. Upstairs, the master suite tackles a polished concrete accent wall, a living room with a built-in fireplace and a private terrace.
Covered patios extend to the rear of the house, spanning a grassy lawn and a dining hut with a fire pit below. The estate covers nearly one hectare.
Sally Forster Jones of Compass had the list. Douglas Elliman’s Marshall Peck represented Legend and Teigen.
Legend has won 11 Grammy Awards, and he’s one of 16 people to win Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony (an achievement known as EGOT). The 41-year-old won an Oscar for the song “Glory” for the 2014 movie “Selma” and recently released his seventh studio album, titled “Bigger Love”.
Teigen, 34, is a television personality, model and author. She hosted “Lip Sync Battle” from 2015 to 2019 and is currently appearing on the new court show “Chrissy’s Court”, on the Quibi short video platform.
Earlier this year, they bought a working residence in West Hollywood for $ 5.1 million, the Times previously reported.
