September has been a busy month in Palm Beach with at least seven high-profile properties changing hands, including a well-known beachfront home that was purchased in just eight days for a record $ 12 million.
BJ Edwards, from LJ Hooker Palm Beach, claims that four people visited 339 Whale Beach Rd, Palm Beach before it was supposed to participate in a marketing campaign and a buyer who had lived in the area and wanted to come back. is offered the full asking price to take the house off the market.

The Art Deco-style white house sits on the easternmost point of Palm Beach and Whale Beach and offers stunning views of the coast.
âThis is a new record for a beachfront property in the area,â Mr. Edwards said.
The property is somewhat of a landmark for sailors with its distinctive style, white exterior, and clifftop position.
The Whale Beach Rd property isn’t large and only has three bedrooms, but the dominance, views, and curved architecture make it special for buyers.
There was also a separate office for working from home, a north facing pool and terrace, and a triple garage.
Mr. Edwards says that normally it takes an average of 100 days to sell a property in Palm Beach, but in this hot market, Palmie residences trade on average in 22 days.
âMost people are limited to traveling within Greater Sydney and Palm Beach is on the outskirts of Greater Sydney,â he says.
“Buyers can’t physically visit Byron Bay or the locked Southern Highlands, but they can go to Palm Beach and they come looking for a property.”
Traditional Palm Beach buyers are looking for a vacation home, but with working from home now more common instead of 80% of buyers being weekend shoppers, that proportion has dropped to 50% with the other half being permanent residents, Edwards said.
âWe have seen a massive change in age and demographics among our buyers,â he says.
Other big sales in Palm Beach in September included 3 Canara Pl at $ 6.38 million, 869 Barrenjoey Rd for $ 5.9 million and 1a Iluka Rd which sold for $ 5.2 million.
